FAQ

Questions, answered

Is everything on SeyShare really free?

Yes. SeyShare is strictly for giving and receiving items at no cost. Selling, bartering or asking for payment is against our rules and leads to removal. The platform itself is free to use.

How do I arrange a pickup safely?

Chat in the app to agree a public meeting point — a bus stop, shop or jetty. Never share your exact home address publicly. Look for the verified badge and member ratings, and report anything suspicious with one tap.

Which islands does SeyShare cover?

Every inhabited island: Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, Silhouette, Cerf, Sainte Anne, Bird, Denis and the Outer Islands. You can filter every search by island and district.

What items are not allowed?

No weapons, medicines, alcohol, expired food, counterfeit goods or anything illegal. Items must be honestly described — our moderators and community reports keep listings trustworthy.

How are the environmental numbers calculated?

Each reused item diverts its estimated weight from landfill. We apply a conservative average weight for each category rather than weighing individual items, so the figures are an estimate and the real total is likely higher.

Can my school, hotel or NGO join?

Yes — organisations are welcome to give away furniture, linen, equipment and supplies. Apply on the Partnerships page to set up a verified organisation profile.Apply to become a partner
